TEDxGraceStreetWomen is a Richmond, VA based chapter of TED, which hosts an annual Women’s focused Ted event, beginning in 2018.
Shortly after the organization’s forming in Spring of 2018, I was brought on as the even’t web designer. Working alongside the event organizers and it’s brand designer Ash Casper, I crafted a bold and vibrant digital experience.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
After doing an initial dive into the myriad of information the organization wished to be able to share from the website, and an exploration into what the 2018 theme meant to the organizers. outside individuals, and even myself, I began wire-framing the site structure - focusing on a layout that would afford for succinct content and a strong visual narrative.
After several rounds of back and forths with the brand designer and the event organizers to perfect layout, design, site experience I began development on the site.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT
The exciting part of this website is that it was designed to be a fluidly evolving website. Prior to the event you see the version presented here - with exploratory content regarding the ticket sales, speakers, and accompanying programming. Post event, the website turns into a review of the event with videos of the speaker sessions for visitors to pursue.
As the 2019 event approaches the site will be restyled and designed to fit the new year’s theme, while retaining an ongoing archive of the previous year’s presentations.
